We get a lot of customers that ask, “What are the best patio doors?” and “What manufacturer should I use?”.  “I have a 3-year-old that needs to open these big 96-inch doors”, or “my mom lives with us, she is 90 years old and can barely stand up and needs to go in and out on her own.”  So, I wanted to tell you the big decision isn’t the manufacturer you choose, but how the company orders that door.  

There are different components that are in order differently according to the contractor. The important thing with patio doors is that you get large rocker stainless steel rollers.  They’re much bigger than the old school, you know.  It’s a big inch-and-a-half tall wheel that has stainless steel bearings in it. And it will last you a long time.

 I’m standing in front of my home where we have a 3-panel pocket door to the outside of the home, and my daughter, when she was 3 years old, could just come up and open each one of those panels all by herself, very easily.
